A few thoughts

1. Who would have ever predicted that France would have a more conservative president than we do?
2. So much for America voting for war heroes. The last three have all lost by wide margins. This is not our Grandpa's country.
3. So much for using the anti tax issue. In Michigan, the House Democrats voted to increase taxes and gained their largest majority in thirty years.
4. Does anybody really think we are still a center right country?
5. Now that Bush is out and they run everything, who will the Democrats blame when things go wrong?
6. How come none of the so called campaign finance groups are complaining about Obama buying the election? After all he did spend more than any candidate in history.
7. Can we now please stop calling America a racist nation?
8. I listened to some conservative talk radio hosts and they are saying the exact same thing they said after 2006: Republicans weren't conservative enough. They obviously still don't get it.
9. How long before Israel decides to take matters into their own hands with regards to Iran's nulcear weapons? A month?
10. Join the bandwagon now: Jindal 2012

Jeff,

A few thoughts. Here is the one reason why the dems won last night: Socialism. We have begun the process of nationalizing the economy with the blessing of a Republican President and canidate for said office. So when McCain is running around saying that the Obama tax plan sounds like socialism, and you see that said canidate supported the largest bailout ever, why vote for him. The exit polls show that over 55% of all voters hate the bailout. McCain went to DC to come up with a solution, and all he did was change the lipstick on the pig. If he had gone down there and said look, no matter what happens the market is going to crash. If we are going to do this, then this is how.

Republicans have lost the last two elections for two reasons:

-we are scared of ideas. If you read the Health Care plan of his, it was actually really good, rather than the nothingness BO was saying. The Reagan revolution was not just a moron movement as the left likes to say, we had ideas big ideas. They were not necissarilly govt based, but rather free market based. Look at the advancements in technology since 1980 compared to the previous 30 years.
-Let's not be scarred of who we are. We believe in things, we do not waver. Look BO changed his stance on many things, but when he went on O'reily and did not change his stances to the tough questions he took, he looked like he knew what he wanted to do. He looked more presidential then at any other point in that interview, and those independents who watch Fox, thought hey at least he stands for something. And when Sept. 15 happened people trusted him. McCain spent all summer with a pen proclaiming he was going to veto the first earmark that crossed his desk, and then rubberstamps that stupid bailout.

Jeff, if you think Jindal is a moderate I think you are mistaken. He is a true believing conservative. Bobby Jindal will be in Iowa in two weeks, and thus the campaign begins.

1) aggressively pursue hispanic and catholic voters
2) use the filibuster carefully, oppose the libs, but don't be obstructionist
3) move slowly on judicial nominees, but give up or down votes on supreme court nominees
4) issues aren't most important in elections anymore, focus on finding good-looking, smooth-talking candidates with likable personalities. Minorities if possible. Must look good on TV, talk in sound-bites, and be morally upstanding. Please don't nominate another old, white, male senator.
5) it is going to be a very long 4 years
6) pray that Obama will have an encounter with God like Saul/Paul had

Well, I've heard talk already that "it's going to take a lot of time - it won't be all accomplished in one term". So, they are already starting their campaign for 2012! I tell ya!

Jon, I love your closing! We really need to be in prayer for Obama, his staff, advisors and even more so, America in general. Obama himself stated that America is no longer a Christian nation. We need to pray that America comes back to Christ. Hearts can change.
